The GP-7000/NT is a GPS/WAAS plotter designed for a variety of vessels desiring video plotting capabilities. With the GP-7000 series, you can see the highly accurate position of your boat on the chart. The GP-7000 series has four show modes: Course Plot, Nav Data, Steering, and Highway modes. The course plot mode is useful for obtaining general information about surrounding sea areas. The Nav data mode clearly shows vital navigational information with large text, which is simple to see even from a distance. The steering mode and highway mode help the operator in later a preset route. The GP-7000 series uses C-Map NT+ charts. These charts provide navigational information including water depth, contours, coastlines, lighthouses, buoys, etc. The use of the SD cards facilitates the management of the expanded chart data. From the supplier: Contemporary technological advances have reduced the cost of color output devices to the point where they are affordable by educators. Output quality has also improved and there is now a wide variety of technologies to choose from. Plotters can handle a wide variety of media, from tracing paper to cardboard, using colored pens or pencils to produce the image. Some color photocopiers can now process computer image files to produce full color images. Other akin options are tri-level xerography, which can produce two-color images, and modern duplicators, which make their stencils from scanned digital images. Ink-jet printers are an inexpensive solution for color output, though somewhat slow. Wax-thermal printers are particularly suited to producing overhead transparencies, although glossy paper can also be used. Video printing makes a direct copy of the image on the screen. Dye-sublimation is a new, expensive thermal printing technology that can produce images of nearly photographic quality.
